Football
A team sport with a diagram. Space opens, or it does not, and everyone sees.
It sits with coaching, youth work, and the local history of grounds and Saturdays.
The tactics are a kind of geography played at speed.
On an Interest Map, the line we most often letter beside football reads “space that opens or does not.” It tends to meet teaching, small towns, and geography.
Work that shares the table
A book that keeps it company
The Creative Habit, Twyla Tharp. Read it beside football: Ritual and repetition, from a dancer who treats practice as the whole point.
